VTL -- More LH gearbox. The black knob on the front (the upper left of the cross beam) is turned to choose speeds. It rotates the gear train dogs from the previous picture. When the black lever to the right is rotated clockwise (down), it squeezes the two dog plates together, and the gears are selectively slid along their shafts, choosing the traverse speed.
